What's this? Donna Lee? Sounds really bad regardless of being metal or jazz. BTW, metal's really bad thank you so much.

people play music they like - if they don't like heavy metal (or rock) they wouldn't waste four minutes at a concert playing it. he shows that there is more than jazz to the audience. not to proove he's better than anyone
now stop it

proof enough that jazz players are the most versatile players ever

That´s not true listen to Toccata or Vivace from his classical album for instance and you can hear that he has indeed evolved.

An orange over here, a pear over there, a banana over there.
All tasty fruit, why not eat fruit salad instead of the same one each day?
Music is life! Many different experiences. Learn from them all. Good day :)

@SevenCircles yeah, good, once in 30 years... in anycase, his style has not evolved. but my point is that.. fuck.. why do they always want to bring up malmsteen as if he were all there is to metal gutiar @@ that is my point, go listen to someone else!
Actually, playing Metal is much more than barely pumping up the distortion
Besides, why the hell non-metalheads live in their ivory tower, and know only...Malmsteen? Where have you all been during the last 20 years?
Please open your ears, and listen for instance to "Focus" by Cynic.

i love metal and i respect jazz, and like jazz guitar very much. But i hate how jazz fans try to trash every aspect of rock guitar, like if it just trash, saying that being technically correct is bad? that using arpeggios is bad? btw Yngwie's problem is that he NEVER evolved from the moment he released his first ablum, but you cant the merit from him or other great rock musicians.
