'Profondeurs (Lunar Landscape)' was written by the French composer Roger Roger in 1963. Part of this interesting piece was used as the title music for Series 4 of the great BBC television series 'Out Of The Unknown'. It was also used in an episode of 'The Prisoner'. Due to its being used in 'The Prisoner', the piece is also known as 'President Speech'.
This recording was made by The Metropole Orchestra of Holland in 1996 and is part of the album 'Grand Travaux', the first commercial release of Roger Roger's work. It's not the recording used in 'Out Of The Unknown' (in my opinion, it's a better version!). The album can be downloaded from iTunes.
The recording used in 'Out Of The Unknown' is also available on iTunes (as 'President Speech'). There's a direct link to it under most of the Series 4 videos on my channel.
Biography of composer Roger Roger (from iTunes)
Roger Roger was a prolific French composer of soundtrack music whose work encompassed themes for radio, television, commercials, cartoons, and live productions. Primarily, however, he scored films — over 500 by his own count. Despite the breadth of his output, none of Roger's work was made commercially available until 1996, when the Netherlands' Metropole Orchestra recorded an album of his compositions entitled 'Grands Travaux'. Sadly, Roger himself did not live to see the album's release — he died June 12, 1996, at the age of 83.
This as not the track used for ootu series 4, but a rerecording of it. The version used for the series can be bought off iTunes, as it was used in the tv series the prisoner, for which a sound track exists. The track is called "president speech"

@terminusful You're right, it's not the version used in OOTU - and this video was not supposed to be public until I'd put the proper details to accompany it (which I've now done). I must remember to double-check that my uploads are initially set to private until I've got around to completing the blurb! ;-)
