Cops: *park in front of the club*

Cop 1: *walks up to Selena* Are you the one that called?

Selena: *shakes her head* No, I-I'm Selena Gomez...*stares at the ground* My friend, Alyson, was shot..

Cop 1: *nods* I'm going to ask you to come with us, Ms. Gomez. We're just going to ask you a few questions then you can go home, ok?

Selena: *nods slowly*


--Downtown Police Station 2 hours later—


Selena: (Oh my gosh...Mom's going to freak once she hears about this.) *twiddles with her thumbs nervously and looks from side to side* Um...can I go home now officer? I have to get home soon.

Cop: Yes, just one more question. You said that Alison was shot by Cody and he was shot by some other girl?

Selena: *nods* But I don't know her name. She told me not to tell you guys but you know...*shrugs* She's a stranger to me.

Cop: *takes note of what she says and props his elbows on the table* And this girl...what did she look like?

Selena: Um...she had long black hair and...she looked about 16 or 17...She was kind of short and she was wearing shorts and white, long v-neck shirt...That's all I can remember.

Cop: *smiles and stands up while gathering his notes* Thank you Ms. Gomez. You may return home for now. *walks out of the door*

Selena: (That was awkward. Maybe I shouldn't have told him about that girl...He looked like he knew her.) *follows him out the door and into the main entrance of the building where three cops bring in a woman thrashing about in black provocative clothes*

Cop 3: Stop struggling! *yanks the woman to her feet and drags her down the hallway*

Woman: No! Stop it! *struggles against the three cops, ramming one of them into the wall and taking his gun and firing it off at him*

Cop 1: *drops dead after being shot in the head causing havoc in the hallway as more officers rush to restrain the woman*

Selena: *stares at the chaos terrified* (Are criminals really like this? Are they this desperate not to go to jail for their crimes?) *watches silently as they taze her and she drops to the floor unconscious* I-Is she going to be alright...?

???: *stands next to her and shrugs* Who knows? A criminal's a criminal. No one cares about them since all they do is just cause trouble and break the law.

Selena: *looks up at him* But they're still human aren't they? They have rights! They aren't animals. Tazing them makes you guys no better than them.

???: They have to be restrained. We will do what we must to ensure the safety of the citizens.

Selena: Please, that's just another excuse. Would you taze a normal citizen for beating a criminal?

???: Depends on the condition of the criminal.

Selena: *rolls her eyes* Some law system you have.

???: This law system protects you. You couldn't possibly understand the sacrifices we make to keep you safe. Everything has a price, it doesn't come free.

Selena: That may be, but you could at least deal with the criminals more humanely.

???: *presses his lips together* I'll see if she's alright once she wakes up.

Selena: *nods* Thank you.
