I took the Mango velomobile out for a charity ride for Multiple Sclerosis Australia - the Brissie to the Bay ride. There were a few rides on offer (10, 25, 50 & 100km). I chose the 100km ride and completed it in 3:16 roughly. We had to stop for all traffic lights once past the first few sections but it was a charity ride, not a race. Many of the traffic lights were at the bottom of hills! Ouch. My average speed was 32km/h so that meant about 7 minutes waiting at the lights...

I stopped for 30 minutes to give medical assistance to a downed rider until the ambulance arrived.

  • Excellent video, nice music selection, and it's good to see a written commentary. I was surprised by the lack of other recumbents though.

  • @carlpanther There probably were a few other recumbents but they started behind me... and they never caught up! ;)

  • Imo, this is the best velomobile video on the net. Thank you for posting this.

  • @ppereira007 Thank you. That's very kind to say. I only wish I had a 'crew' with some exterior shots :)

Found it thanks, I appreciate that.

  • @carlpanther "So Emotional" - it was on a Buddha Bar album... can't remember which volume off the top of my head. Cheers,

  • @carlpanther BTW Who did the ace All by myself cover, it's driving me nuts.

  • @nitramluap The reason I'm looking at 'bent vids is that after many years on a road bike I pick up my 1st ever recumbent tomorrow, a Bachetta Strada. Bring on the long trips....and the downhills. I'm already looking at the XT front fairing, but now I've seen your velomobile vids, hmmmmmm.

  • @camera2888 Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it. I know what you mean but it was hard enough cutting 3 hours of footage down to 27 minutes as it was! :)

  • Crop it to just 4:40 - 9:20 and this would appear on Facebook pages around the world, bud. Truly inspirational, in a sort of "this could be the answer" sort of way. Thanks for posting such a good vid.
