Rebuilding Afghanistan, One Book at a Time. ACKU is the largest repository of information about Afghanistan. A brainchild of Louis and Nancy Hatch Dupree, Americans who had worked and lived in Afghanistan since the early 1960's, the center houses over 45,000 books, periodicals and other digital information. On this day Nancy leads the ACKU to a school one hour from Kabul center. It is the first time the school of 8,000 students will have a library.

  • nice

    tanx for vide

  • beautiful girls Afghanistan !! :-)

  • education for both man and women is crucial

what talibans are doing is lying the young uneducated ppl, they are saying that their ideology is in Koran, but how ppl who can't read can check it...

  • I hope dupree is concentrating her efforts on the pashtuns - all i could see was dari-speaking people in the video.

  • Excellent video - Afghanistan needs more kind and noble people like this - Americans in the form of dupree are welcome, but those who come with combat uniform and army boots are dispised and rightly so. Only thing that ruined this video was the endorsement from one of the biggest Afghan puppets to date.
