Did you start this test with the water at 160 degrees?

great idea running this test, but if you could do the test again and weigh each propane tank before and after it would give much better results to make an informed decision when doing your burner purchase..... a slight increase in speed of boil doesn't mean anything if your wasting double the propane

Do you know the BTU ratings of each burner? I also agree it would be nice to have checked LP usage...something for the NEXT experiment! :) Thanks for the video!!

That's a shame, you failed to close the loop. Would have really liked to have known the answer to Ibmbrew's question. Still, thanks for the demo!

I have the banjo burner on my system. I haven't used a jet burner. From this experiment, would you say you get a faster boil, but at the cost of wasting propane? How much longer did the jet burner take to get to boil? Any idea on how much propane you save by using the jet? Is the savings worth the extra time it takes to bring to boil?
Thanks!

I had an issue with the recording so I was unable to capture the rest of the jet burner reaching boil. Based on my setup, I would say the jet burner raised the temp around 2 degrees per minute and the banjo raises at 3 degrees per minute. Boil would have been reached around 21 minutes on the jet burner side. I did not weigh the tanks before I started so I can't really offer a fair opinion at this time based on propane usage. 7 minute difference to boil 6.5 gallons of water.
