Thanks for the excellent video. I've installed a lot of RAM, but this one looked tougher!! After 3 yrs I got the courage to pop a 2GB...the installation was a breeze. Crucial CT1867692 2GB, 200-pin SODIMM (2GB, 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) for $25. The slow processor, VIA C7-M ULV, will always be kind of slow, but the programs pop-up a lot faster! Thanks again!!
A general comment: 32-bit goes up to 3 GB of RAM, anything more needs 64-bit.

Hi Josh, can you show me how to access the fan to clean the ventilation? My 2133 has suddenly begun to make a loud sound on the left side, and I want to try cleaning the fan as a first answer. Please? thanks!

Hey, whats the part number on that extended battery you have on there. My wife has this same model PC and I am looking to upgrade the RAM and the battery for her birthday. Hers has the original 3-cell battery, your's looks like its a 6 or 9 cell. I didn't see a P/N on the HP site for an extended life battery. Any help is appreciated, great video BTW.

Thanks for the great vid - it made upgrading the RAM totally effortless. However, I'm wondering if you could tell me if there is a battery, other than the one it came with, that will have a longer life between charges.

Thanks for the video, been trying to find a way to upgrade the ram on these things, but good to see its an easy process. HP really do build a quality unit.

I have heard that you can actually put a 4 gig chip in it and the cpu will use 3 gigs of the ram(since there are no 3 gig chips you have to buy a 4 gig). Since you seem to be the 2133 expert, do you know about this, is it true?
hi what the maximum memory module you can fit in it? 4 or 8 gb?

2GB RAM is the max.

will this void the warrenty for the laptop, i know this used to on the EEE Pc but then asus said they will cover RAM upgrades, is this the same case for HP?

Nope, it won't void the warranty.

Battery life playing back a 700MB avi file in "High Performance" mode (cpu isn't throttled at all and screen at 75% bright) - probably about 2 hours and 40 mins. It came up with the 10% battery left warning and said I had 19 mins left at that point.
The video I tested played fine in Power Saver mode (cpu throttled to 800Mhz) so that will extend the battery life quite a bit I would imagine. I'll be doing a real test of that tonight.

Doing a test of that tonight. Going to play a movie and see how long it takes to die
