Do NOT EVER use gloves with a saw.This is a VERY bad idea.I personally know a man who worked 35 years in the steel industry.When using a circular saw to cut down old pallets while wearing gloves, the saw caught the gloves and mangled his hand.He ended up losing half of a finger and barely retaining use of his afflicted hand.DO NOT USE GLOVES WITH A CIRCULAR SAW!!!

Right around the 2 Minute and 58 Seconds 2:58 mark there is a little measuring device sitting on the table where he’s working... It. What is that thing? I have one and don’t know what it is. its like a measure with a Rotating shaft with numbers on it held still by two O’rings. I always wondered what it is.
