My pit is twelve she's sweet and your right - she settled in quickly, and that's the best for us, because we worked a lot and couldn't affort a pup.

I adopted my boy Hugo (at 4 yrs. old) almost a year ago now. He'd been hopped from shelter to shelter, after being seized from someone who had abused and neglected him. He was very timid and stressed at the shelter, but after the first 2-3 weeks home he had come out of his shell. He's by far the sweetest, funniest & most loyal dog I've ever had. Sometimes these guys have had hard lives, if just given a chance, they can very well be some of the most amazing animals you've ever met.

I adopted a pug that was over 10 years old. He caught my eye because he was the most well behaved pug at the rescue. He had a glorious 4 years with us and passed away from natural causes in his doggy bed, with the family. He had a rough life before i adopted him, and I gave him the second chance he deserved. He will always be remembered. I plan on adopting more senior dogs in the future. (ps. pet insurance for him was only $6 a month...it covered all of his vet expenses).

Senior dogs are great - housebroken, trained, and *low energy*!

I love older dogs. I have one and would like to adopt another when I graduate college.
My true rescue love is the seniors. They deserve a safe, loving, home with a good quality of life. And that is my promise to them. Growing old is not a crime.

This is a great video. I've worked at a few different animal hospitals and the older dogs were always my favorite. I think it's really cool to adopt older dogs and make their golden years the best years of their life. Just spoil them rotten when their old and let them die happy. I wish more people realized the beauty in that.
