The Early Church was Eucharistic...read the early church fathers...they were all CATHOLIC!!!

Hi. Im catholic and i told my baptist friends about the eucharist and laughed at me, and tried to tell me. They compared it to the grape fruit, but our religion is different. I know about the grape juice and crackers, but we catholics believe it is the holy spirit that transforms the bread and vine. And in our faith it is truly body and blood. Our eucharist beliefs is one of the main reason that catholic and protestant split. But we have proof, and it is our belief. Weve seen miracles.

@bheadh I hate? I am not making fun of people but trying to share the truth about the misconception. The reason God doesn't answer your prayers is because of this very important false teaching I am trying to get you to see. I am not the one making fun of your "grape juice service" and I have not condemned you. Have I said anything that attacked you personally? My dislike of false teaching is what I hate. I love Catholic people even though you might not think so. My entire family is Catholic.

@bheadh Grape Juice service? Don't know what you are talking about here. But you mentioned here in 1 Cor.11:27, 28 and 29 is only part of it. You need to read this in the context of what it is saying. This is talking about confession. In verse 26, it repeats what I have been telling you all along: "For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you "PROCLAIM" the Lord's death till He comes. This clearly doesn't indicate that a priest will bring Christ back by lifting his arms.

@TheProducerDirector You, sir, are a dolt. After reading your posts with others, I noticed you say the same thing over and over and pick fights with people who say the same thing to you...over an over. You say stupid dung like this.... "you must believe...right"? "Is that Catholic"?.... I'll tell you what, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, maybe after you REALLY KNOW what others believe (instead of the un-informed guesses you make..."right"?) you can have a leg to stand on. You hate. Not very Christlike.

What blind tradition? The Holy Eucharist? That Christ established @ The Last Supper? 1st Cor.(CHAPTER 11 vs 27,28,29)..27 "This means whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup unworthily SINS AGAINST THE BODY AND BLOOD OF THE LORD" ..29 "He who eats and drinks without recognizing the BODY eats and drinks a conemnation upon himself". So your "grape juice" service brings condemnation to those who drink it unworthily? You wont be able to blame RCC when you are before the Lord, alone.Ur not Christ

@bheadh By the way, 1 Cor. goes up to Chapter 16, there is nothing after that. Where do you get verses 27, 28 and 29?? Will grape juice condemn you? That is a silly question. Salvation is about FAITH in Jesus Christ and salvation comes from our hearts Romans 10:8. This is a perfect example of why following traditions blindly lead people away from God, not closer to Him. You must believe that by eating the bread and drinking the wine will give you the Holy Spirit, right? Is that Catholic?

@TheProducerDirector Judaism does not have "churches" and Jesus came to fulfill the Judaic law, therefor He would never refer to it in the manner found in Matthew. The etymology of the word begins with the Greek word "ekklesia". This word is made up of "ek" or "ex" meaning "out of" or "from"; and the verb "kaleow" meaning "called". Thus the literal meaning in the noun form is "those called out of". The 'New Testament' came from the original church to whom the Holy Spirit was given.

@TheProducerDirector Oh ye of little faith. It isn't the priest that does anything. It's the power of God, unless, of course, you protest that too. Jesus said "I will be with you always, even until the end of time." God can do whatever He wants. The message was so important in Christs ministry that He made sure @ the last supper to tell his dicsiples EXACTLY what He wanted done. The vast MAJORITY of Christians from the 2 OLDEST CHRISTIAN traditions hold this truth since the TIME of CHRIST.
