BP's new cap. A ruse?

What better way to create calm and hope than to announce that next week there is going be a new cap put on the well, and maybe the leak will be stopped.

I fear the worst, that it is a ruse, to buy time. What for? Martial law is all I can think of.

With the restrictions on journalists, and the use of Corexit, it seems that suspicion is begged for.

I do not think anyone could have wished for a mess like this. But certainly some powers could have wished for BP to suffer. It was uncanny that as the Lybian aid ship headed for Gaza, that US Senators campaigned against BP's Libyan connections.

At this moment I think they are probably putting a big explosive device down the well. From what I have learned this so-called pressure test makes no sense.

What blows a hole in most conspiracy theories, is the "fact" that BP used inferior cementing and had a weak casing from early on - before the explosion. So I am left to wonder if indeed this is true. Unfortunately any evidence produced cannot be believed, anymore than Iraq's WMDs.

But with such a mess that we have now, a cover up is in many people's interest.

@108morris108 Somewhere you said, we sense we don´t know the real story. They are masters of spin & have a history of pointing the crowd, us, in the wrong direction. Maybe that well isn´t even the Nr1 story, but some volcano is, 20 miles away, I don´t know. Pressure tests could perhaps make sense if they are really trying to find the leaks in the casing, to place relief wells below where they had located the leaks to relieve the pressure, to then seal the compromised well with "mud" and cement ?

Has anyone seen the CNN video with the door opening behind the oil well? I don't believe for a second there is a cap in place. There is so much oil in the gulf now, no one can be the wiser.I believe they are preparing for the nuclear option. I just hope for the best for all of our sake.
