Games Without Frontiers - what Gabriel's *really* singing

There is a widespread myth that Peter Gabriel sings "piss on the coons in the jungle" in Games Without Frontiers. He doesn't, he sings "goons". Lots of people refuse to believe this and insist that they can hear him sing "coons", but they're hearing incorrectly. This video uses the original clean vocal track from the multitrack master of the song (made publicly available by Gabriel from his "Real World Remixed" website) to prove that he sings "goons".

Oh, and you'll also be able to hear clearly that both he and Kate Bush are singing "Jeux sans frontieres" (with the correct French-accent spin on "frontieres") and not "She's so popular" or any of the other things that some people with cloth ears think they can hear.

It's certainly not a lie. People hear it as "coons" because they've never read the official lyric sheet and there is obviously room for misinterpretation when simply listening to the song. Being able to hear the clean vocals should make it clear what's really being sung - ditto with the "Jeux sans frontieres", which many people believe is "she's so popular". And "myth" is exactly the right word to use because myths are stories widely accepted as truth that have no real factual basis.

@winkosmosis Actually, the "kissing baboons" line is earlier in the song. The "goons" part comes later. It isn't censored, and I don't think it ever has been except for, I believe, on the music video collection. And that was probably in response to all the people who thought he said "coons"!

This is amazing to Listen to but piss on the "goons" is meant to be offensive. I will always interpret and hear "coons." I like coons better.
