Hey man, it's bruce's song, of course his version is going to be 'better'. I doubt this guy's intention was to try and out-do the original, I think it was just his interpretation.

Music isn't about exact copies and replication, it's about channeling what YOU feel, not what bruce springsteen feels.

I'm sure JOHN MAYER has the ABILITY to preform the song exactly like bruce, and I'm sure he has the ability to make the song better. With enough practice, everyone does.

sure there is plenty of soul and emotion in John Mayer's performance. Excellent cover of a classic song....can't say that I can imagine anyone other than John doing this cover.

I'm a HUGE Springsteen fan. My wife "dragged" me to a concert of John Mayer. I can tell you this, the young man can play the guitar!! If you like the blues, then you must see him live. I was impressed!!! When you're used to seeing Springsteen, nothing much matters. John Mayer was worth it.

It gives me the chills, I swear. I saw him in 2008, and March of '10.. he never performed it but I hope he does when I see him tomorrow(: John Mayer is my favorite musician ever -- HANDS DOWN.

@sononchalant That's like someone saying if someone practiced enough they would have a better jump shot then Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant. Good luck on that one. He can not perform the song exactly like Bruce. They both have completely different voices. Can you picture John singing Born To Run? I sure the hell can't unless it's in a girly voice & vice versa. I like John as he is a hell of a guitar player but don't compare him to a Legend... The Boss. My opinion BTY.
