here is a decent eagle claw form, not the one normally done by our favorite wushu players but still good. some of the movements in this form are just for show. if you want to buy it you can find it at plumpub.com of cmaod.com

  • this is modern wushu but it shoulden't be called modern eagle claw because thats like saying the new eagle claw style is made for good looks and performing no this is not modern eagle claw this is some bulllshit good looks wushu that spawned from the cultural revolution to modernise china and kick out the good old combat arts at least japan and korea aren't as stupid as the chinese

  • good point! i'll change the title.

  • Cool video. Though I doubt that form is as useless as some may think. Sure it looks a little flashy. But you just need to know how to read it on the proper level. Not everything seen in a form is exactly that way in combat. Rather, it teaches concepts and energies apparent within the set. It is just an engine so to speak, and it is up to the practitioner, what type of "fuel", or energies to use. You know?

    Cool vid!

  • The guy is very agile for his age. This is modern wushu, which is what 90% of China does in their regional forms. Its done as a demonstration art & sport, which is why its nice and dramatic to watch. Real kung fu is not so flashy, but remember that modern wushu comes from traditional kung fu.

  • some forms are from Shaolin, but some have left Shaolin and have existed outside Shaolin.

  • Isn't this shaolin kung fu?

  • It is quite normal for common forms to exclude the secret family/clan techniques. After all, if everybody knows, then whats the point? Even in Shaolin, what the monks learn and what they teach the public isn't always the same.

  • although, just before or after :38 you can see real world fighting application. its my belief that this family style traditionally withheld certain elements within the flourishings for many a reason. isnt it so that within this system there are 108 joint lock applications as well as tumbling and acrobatics ( like aikido and judo )

  • That's true, not a lot of people understand that the form is a collection of techniques executed in a certain way. Knowledge and demonstration of the form does not make you a martial artist. If there is nobody to teach you the theories, and how concepts and application works, you're basically doing nothing more than a routine. Which is what the majority of Tai Chi people do.

  • yor're wrong! this is wushu not Gong Fu, but the Kwoon is fantastic!
