your video made me buy the Canon G9 back in 2008!!
-
what do you expect it's a canon :)

You forgot to say a very importent thing: It shots both RAW format and JPEG format simultaneously in the samemexposure!!! That feature can be very useful!
NOW, when I am writing this, the G11 has hit the market.

correct, but in my case, i use as a primary consumer point and shoot for still pix. works great in that field. btw, the videos that i shot of dancing fountains in barcelona are pretty amazing, without zoom in and zoom out :-)

that's awesome. I really appreciate you taking time to answer. I'll get it as well. thanks again. Cheers!

and btw, i had bought lense adapter, telephoto & wide angle lenses with it. but returned them after a week. it was pointless as it adds bulk to the camera (makes it larger than even small consumer DSLRs!) i dont plan to use G9 for wildlife/nature photography- for that i'll say buy a prosumer DSLR. i think buying adapter and other lenses for it gives a false impression that now we have a prosumer DSLR :-) For me, this is a small travel camera, and it does well on that front!

yes, canon G9 shoots videos in 1024x768. i just returned from spain tour-it was the trial tour for G9- and though im not big of videography, i took some videos of the dancing fountains in barcelona and they are all in 1024x768 format; and fantastic. btw, the still photography that i did was in 12MP- 3000x4000 and i set quality to "fine" mode instead of "super fine" and it was still amazing. what surprised me was how much i can learn about photography on this camera!
I just got the G9 and I agree, it's an awesome camera and the video is great! I was wondering what the best way to record video into a computer , but using a different audio input ie. filming a music video but recording audio using a different mic. Is there a program you can suggest?

If you are using a Mac try Final Cut Express...if you are using a PC try Pinnacle Studio version 12. Cheers
