Mullets Galore: Washougal 1994

Back in 1994 many motocross enthusiasts were still living in the 80's and saw their beautiful flowing locks of hair that hung down the back of their head as a status symbol. They were especially prevalent during intermission between motos when everyone was sitting down, the people with the biggest mullets were the ones standing on coolers of beer drawing attention to themselves. Here is a classic mullet sighting during intermission at the Washougal national in 1994.

I still limp from a blown out ACL never repaired from a race in Mabton in 1978. In 1980 I was at the starting line on my RM 125 when the mountain blew! I've paid my dues to MX and I love it just the same. Are you going to Washougal this August? We should touch bases and talk Motocross! If Bubba and Chad dont wanna race MX, pussys, fuck 'em, the sport is Motocross, and Ryan V will kick their asses. He aint no pansy, and he'll figure out the 450s, given time!

I like Ricky V, too. I think all old time racers pay their dues eventually. I have blown the ACLs out of both of my knees and have two plates and five screws holding my right hand together. I broke my wrist at Washougal in 1990. I don't rember how many times I have been knocked unconscious.... I would say I am in pretty good shape compared to some of my old racing buddies.

And your right about those moto chicks sitting at your knees......those was the days.....

I dont know who this bozo is, but he looks suspiciously like me 15 years ago! I forgot my hair looked like that! I coulda been the lead man for Whitesnake or Poison! But your right, Washougal is the mecca of MX! We're lucky to have this track in Wa. And thats my lovely exwife in the ponytail and white shirt sitting at my knees, where she loved to be! MX racers aren't queer...

Hey, I had a mullet as well back in the day, so don't feel bad. Besides, mullets are coming back into style. With the exception of the flouescent colored clothing and man-purse, most kids today probably couldn't even tell that this video is 15 years old.
