Head end ride on board Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee interurban car #251. Filmed at the Illinois Railway Museum (with permission) on Monday, May 25th 2009.
What a treat, love the silence when changing ends, I always wondered what the engine sound was though that would start up, later to find out it was a air compressor (duh). We have a great little museum here it East Troy Wisconsin with a real TMEL&R substation as a gift shop and ticket counter. Some cool running stock as well as a nice ride down the line. East Troy was the last municipally owned electric railroad in the USA, keeping it in repair for local freight, its been sold now I believe
Yeah the air whistle is the dead giveaway. 251 has a 2-note horn. Nice to see the Electroliner out in a good spot for photos. I like the pneumatic bell, just like the current South Shore cars have. Nice vid.
when you read this know that Jesus christ loves you!
