Bryan Bertino Video Interview -- THE STRANGERS - Collider.com

Opening tomorrow is the debut film from writer/director Bryan Bertino and it's called "The Strangers." The movie is a suspense thriller about a couple whose remote getaway becomes a place of terror when masked strangers invade. The confrontation forces Kristen (Liv Tyler) and James (Scott Speedman) to go far beyond what they thought themselves capable of if they hope to survive.

So to help promote the film, I sat down with Bryan yesterday afternoon to discuss the movie. During our time, we covered all the usual things and I learned he's been interested in this material for a long time.
During part one (which is this interview) I asked Bryan how has the promotional tour been and how was the NYC junket, he talks about what the film is about and how the project came together, I ask if it was based on a true story...he explained how the story came together and how he came to be interested in the material, and with all the horror/thriller type films, I ask how hard is it to come up with things to scare the audience

the scariest thing about this movie was that it was based on a true story. i cant imagine being tied to a chair and have 3 crazy masked murderers take turns stabbing me and my fionce

The suspence was almost overwelming i didnt like the how the bad guys got away so clean but if based on a true story it is what it is.

Good, creepy and terrifying but IT NEEDED MORE GORE AND SLASHING! I realize that it's creepier without that but still....I got bored towards the end!!!
