@ voyrnj & Chardnj lol its people like you the reason why mankind isnt fixn the major probs we have to day. If you think about it all inventions starts off being small but as time goes on it grows to be big and successful, we need to support stuff like this for us to move forward spec away from fossil fuel technolgy

@tedbuilder I agree. Gotta start SOMEWHERE and make sure things are working before moving on the bigger and better things.

Can you raise the incoming water level? If there was a hill nearby totally use that :)
-
Is that the location of the original wheel? because I bet if you put a bigger wheel the size of the original where that was you would get much more power. I understand this is just for experimentation though, I built a windturbine using an alternator and some roof guttering.

all this work and all the materials put into it just to light a bulb.. ???? lol for the cost of this generator this guy could have this bulb lid off of the grid for many many years

it's hard to see what kind of drop you have in the water level but the wheel looks very inefficient the way it is set up. I realize you are just making an initial setup for experimentation but I am willing to bet that if you get the wheel set up correctly, you'd get twice the power. Obviously you are experimenting but it will take a LOT more water to make the whole thing worth developing in a low head situation.

Have since done many modifications,I have lowered the wheel 30cm (can't lower it any more otherwise it's in the millpond) which made a big differance.Totaly agree with you that I'm not getting the max power from the wheel yet.
