This is an example of an aggressive dog & how with the right technique they can be groomed without having them muzzled. This dogs owner told me she paid $300 to have him groomed at the vets. The first time I groomed him I could see why they charged so much. He was one of the most aggressive doge I've ever done in my 18 years of grooming. When you consider I advertise that I specialize in these kinds of dogs and the fact I do dogs that the grooming shops and even other mobile groomers refuse to do it says a lot for this little guy. The first time I groomed him it took me almost 3 hours to do him.

If you notice when he starts to warn me he is about to bite I ignore him and keep on grooming him. This is one way to show the dog who is in charge. He realizes I'm not scared of him so he backs off. You also notice I don't get mad at him either. By using this technique I am able to keep an otherwise extremely aggressive dog calm and groom him without it being a traumatic experience.

!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!
PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE IF YOU ARE GOING TO TRY THIS! THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL GET BIT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND EVEN A SMALL DOG CAN DO A LOT OF DAMAGE!

  • wish you were in my area, I've been turned away by two groomers just to get my chihuaha's nails clipped. They won't do it, because they can't get muzzle on her. She bites when it comes to that.

  • @athenamor don't need a muzzle just a short grooming noose so he can't reach. also if you put a towel over his head he can't see and then you can muzzle him. It is important to give the dog lots of affection once the muzzle is on so he can associate it as not as much of a negative experience.

  • i live in la and my dog is a lil crazy she bites and doesn't let nobody touch her does any one know were i can take her.

  • @lynwoood123 Sorry it took so long to get back to you, If you want to drive to orange I can do her. also you can check some of my replies on the videos as I have recently responded to many of the problems

  • Would like to see how you groom the dog while he is being difficult. It is something groomers have to contend with and would be good to see how it is done.

  • I plan on doing so as soon as I get a new customer with a difficult dog. I would like to show how the dog is for the first grooming and then how he is on the third. this is usually when they become more cooperative. It really is amazing how much they can change with the proper care and I don't think people will really believe it until I actually show it on video. The most important thing is what is going on inside your head. They really know how your feeling and it does make a difference.

  • I have a Samoyed mix that was abused for ten years before we got him. We've had him 3 years and some triggers have improved while others have worsened. (I think he feels more vulnerable now that his sight, hearing, smell are diminishing with age.) The vet no longer accepts him because last time he bit me there and I couldn't muzzle him. I wish I could find a grooming solution because the poor boy is getting all matted up. Kudos to groomers who take on difficult dogs.

  • Wow - you have definitely found your calling! I hope you have great success in your business. Thanks for posting this video and the helpful tips!

  • Cute dog-loved that smile.

My little Gigi just loves being groomed by you! You have that special touch, that meaningful way of communicating that my dog seems to understand.
