I feed ginger non-weight baring bones likes ribs, backs and necks of pork and poultry twice a week. It's good for her teeth and gut. I give no kibble on the day I feed bones. It's a good option, since feeding raw every day is not possible right now.
This translates to a simple fact: everything about a dog or cat's body design says they were designed for a carnivorous, hunting lifestyle geared toward killing prey.
My six pups have been eating 100% raw for about a month now... They were eating TOTW (grain free) but we decided to switch to raw. If we ever went back to ki**** they would probably start a protest :)LOL
For anyone having a issue feeding raw because of the trouble finding meat suppliers try prey4pets. The prices are reasonable there is also a yahoo group for people who need help finding suppliers in their area as well as people willing to trade one meat type for another.
Ginger is a beautiful dog and its good to see more people taking the time to feed raw or to even consider it.
I also give raw bones. 100% raw isn't possible for me either. I feed natural kibble, raw meaty bones, and pulped veggies. Raw meaty bones and pulped veggies are fed 3 times a week and kibble 4.
