@2204Alpha Thanks for stating the obvious.
-
@EatMyPropwash The caravan is less expensive to operate and maintain and is used by a ton of small airlines and around the world.
-
Awesome sound!
-
@jackerd12 No...there is a tiny caged monkey that runs really fast. The monkey is powered by crack cocaine. When the pilot advances the throttles, the monkey gets more crack, and therefore runs faster.
-
@jackerd12 yep, the names bascially short for Turbo Propeller.
-
@acuchemkid2007 Caravan is pretty slow in comparison. It's more or less a cargo carrier, or jump plane for skydivers, or sight seeing plane which isn't designed a whole lot for speed. I dont know many commercial operations that use Caravans as their primary plane of choice, besides Air Choice One.

the caravan is a lot slower.

@acuchemkid2007 Thanks! Now I know which one is Fastest aircraft on single turboprop.
-
@strassj The Socata TBM 850 has the current record for the fastest single turboprop aircraft. The Pilatus PC-12 is close 2nd or 3rd. Not sure where the Cessna Caravan fits.

@jackerd12 pretty much there is a jet that is inside and the exhaust turns a shaft that is attached to the propeller makeing it a turbo prop
Yes, that's why it is a turboprop. :-)
