Josh Ritter on David Lettermn 1/12/07

This Dylan vs. Ritter comparison is ridiculous as we can not possibly know what Ritter will do with the next 40 years of his life til he is Dylans age. Josh Ritter is a pretty incredibly talented guy and i HOPE that he continues to expand his art. Dylan, however, is UNTOUCHABLE. Dylan is Americas greatest artist of all time, and deserves to be recognized as such. When Ritter has 35 albums including ones that fundamentally alter rock as we know it, we'll compare.

Why does there always have to be a comparison? Josh is Josh, man. Bruce is Bruce. Dylan is Dylan. They're all great. Let's not measure our wankers here.

bob dylan yes inspired a lot of music and writers but i personally would rather listen to josh ritter or guy clark or brian houston or someone like that. bob dylan isnt that great in my opinion. this is a perfect example of a great song right here. be it better or not as good as dylan. whatever you think yourself but its a fantastic tune

It would be hard to claim that Ritter is superior to Dylan when Josh lists Bob as his main influence.
