Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA CD add-on for the Sega Genesis video game console! Or the Mega CD for those of you with Megadrives. Same thing, different colors and name. The Sega CD was originally released by Sega in 1992, updated with the model 2 in 1994/1995. It plays.. you guessed it, SEGA CD games! The MegaCD is a pretty cool device that attached to your Mega Drive (which is Mega rad) and plays compact discs with awesome video games on them like Android Assault, Silpheed, Robo Aleste and Sewer Shark. CD media is different than cartridges and back in the day this was pretty high technology. Should you buy a Sega CD? Will your MD collection be better off if kept company by a stack of Sega CD games? Well... yes. Classic Game Room goes into great detail to look over the Mega CD and review how it works, functions and operates. CGRHD is the money bomb when it comes to retro gaming reviews. Word up!

  • I'm sick of AVGN asskissers coming here to complain about the Sega CD and 32x. What's with the war here? It's just a console, so it's not a big deal. Everyone has different opinions. Hell, I'm like Mark in the video; I enjoy the Sega CD and 32x. I mean, it's not like James Rolfe is the God of the entire universe and everyone must obey him or some bullcrap. So stop with the war and respect everyone's opinion, okay?

  • I wish AVGN fans would realize that his comedy is mostly based on exaggeration (not that it's a bad thing). The Sega CD and even the 32x had some great games

  • @RemixedVoice Yea that's a good point actually and probably why the 32x did not do so well- because the saturn was just around the corner so people waited instead.

Yea if it was it would have been awesome!

  • AVGN is an oracel and my personal God.

  • @MrLucozade1028 Idk, the 32x came out in '94, and the Saturn came out the following year. I don't think they should have made the Neptune because it would've been succeded by the Saturn a year later. If the Saturn was compatible with Genesis cartridges and Sega CD games, it would be my favorite console of all time!

  • @RemixedVoice I agree, the Sega CD had some very good games, unfortunately James just didn't have many of them. However in my opinion i think the 32x should have been scrapped and Sega had just made the neptune like they had originally planned.

  • How come you don't have the model 1 CD unit for your model 1?

  • @josephskater1994 thanks and are there other ways to do that without it being complicated or not

  • @anicentwarinator1990 I would go with emulator-zone download the 1 you want null dc would be my suggestion, then you will need plugin files. you can easily find a tutorial on youtube to get null dc set up. i ran shenmue on my laptop ( e machines E625) Which is a lousy pc, but it ran fine and very smooth. I would also suggest getting roms of the game or getting the game and making copys of the files on the game disc on your pc and converting them to a null dc compatible format.

  • @josephskater1994 really didnt know that im assuming there are emulators on the computer for it right or emulator system any suggesstions on what site to use

  • @anicentwarinator1990 I would suggest an emulator, but trust me lol, Dreamcast on Sega CD? IMPOSSIBLE. The Sega CD isn't even 32-Bit compared to the dreamcast which is I believe 128-Bit, hell the Sega CD couldn't even handle the Sega Saturn games. Lol.
