I don't know why Rick Green invokes a bigger population and perceptions of power as reasons for Québec independence. Canada has a bigger population IN Canada. In Québec. the Québécois are 80% and falling (now that's a reason.) More power? Québec has it's own government, so where's the Canadian power? In the house of commons, it's very difficult to win a majority witht the support of Québec. No candidate can become Prime Minister without speaking French, so where's the power?

If they leave, the newcomers to Canada, Newfoundland, could leave too! after that, NB and NS could leave b/c of distance, and then the BC and Alberta ,could join the US, because of lower taxes on oil, distance from Ottawa, and a very American culture, giving us Yanks cheap oil and a less smug, and smaller, hat!

well, it actually is the top market in british columbia, whether or not you think thats sad... and 95% of it is exported to the US, which means it generates tremendous amounts of money, and although its not quite internationally traded its definitely a player on the world scale

You are afraid your culture will be repressed? Quebec is good at repressing other cultures, but when it comes to their own, oh no we must not do that? Fucking hypocrites. If Germany didn't think of Nazism first, France would have soon after. Quebec should separate and when they do, they can not have the help of Ottawa and the rest of Canada can finally have some money for itself instead of it all being give the that bitch called Quebec.
