  • Caution cheesy cover!!

  • @jsilence418 , it's not a cover, it's a "new" stereo recording by the Association.

  • "No greater love than to lay down your life for another" - God Bless Jay Sebring; whatever he may have done wrong elsewhere in his life was redeemed by his last moments. A true hero.

  • So true. He defended her to the end. And that poor girl. She had to watch him being shot. This man she was once in love with and was a great friend. If Susan Atkins lived in hell her last years, she wasn't stabbed in the prime of her pregnant 26 year old life. There is no repentence for blatant murder.

  • I really think that Charlie Manson has won, after all. He always wanted to control by fear and hate, and he has done it. Even from his prison cell, he has a degree of control of some dark corner of our psyche where we nurture our deepest dread. We have lost our way, unable to trust and forgive, unable to live our lives forward (not in the past). We shiver at the thought of a rare, isolated psycho killer (who feeds on our fear) and we trust the things we shouldn't.. bankers & leaders who betray!

  • I apologize that yuu need to go to the first post at the bottom and read UPwards to make sense of what I am saying..

The healing is for US, the victims! THIS HATE is what Charlie Manson would have wanted for us. It is what will destroy us, all, I think. We are becoming a paranoid, hateful, vengefull and self-righteous people, who don't see that we are hurting ourselves with all this hate and fear.

  • Doris Tate and her husband were delightful and kind people. They opened their lovely Palos Verdes home to strangers in the victims' group who were really hurting. There were some people there with terrible stories, and I felt for them, but I could not stand the anger and hate they were hanging on to. I've seen this same hate on other internet lists and people stoking the embers of hate, instead of promoting healing.

  • By coincidence, I got to meet Doris Tate and her husband, many years ago. They were hosting meetings of "Parents of Murdered Children", one of the first "victims" groups. I think that was the beginning of the "victim's rights" movement and this only helped to initiate our decline into the aforementioned "police / prison state". It happens that our own daughter had died in a motor vehicle accident, and there were no groups for this, so this was offered to me, a grieving mother.

  • Jay and Sharon's tragic death, to this day make me so sad to see, because this represents a time when California really began to lose it's innocence and started the downward slide into the police state which it now has become. Sharon and Jay represent to me a time when I was young, when the California lifestyle was so free and open. You had to be there to understand.

Most young people today cannot understand what it was. I feel badly for them that they cannot have what we took for granted.

  • Somewhere else in the USA, the legendary Woodstock music festival was the recent news, and across the sea in Asia, the Vietnam was was in full swing. It was a crazy time. But, it was a young and innocent time for so many people, then. On this day, I think the innocence died.

  • This is one of those moments in life, where you remember exactly what you were doing and where you were, when you heard the news. I was on an "underground" train in London, actually on the outskirts of the city, above ground, on a sunny day, traveling with a friend. I had bought a paper and started to read about this horrible murder, back home in California.

  • Jay and Sharon were totally the Dylan and Kelly of Beverly Hills 90210 ....

  • @MrLouie670 Me too, life is like a vapor. I hurt for them all.

  • Sharon was gorgeous and Jay was absolutely adorable....the eternal couple.
