Sorry about the song.. I had to use youtube's audioswap because the other song was copyrighted.

The guide for windows xp starts at 1:19.
The vista part starts at 2:35.

This guide is to help you set up mouse keys.
Mouse Keys is a program built into windows which allows you to control the mouse with the numberpad.
Using mouse keys you can right click on something, press two(to move the mouse down) and then five(to left click)
in order to do something very quickly.
It is very useful for drop mining, drop woodcutting, and using bones on altars. There are many other uses as well.

While setting it up:
1. Make sure you set on "press ctrl/shift to speed up/slow down mouse keys"
This allows the mouse to jump from one place to another while control is held down.
2. You can adjust how far the mouse moves when you press a number by adjusting the top speed.
3. If you're using a laptop that doesn't have a numberpad then just follow the steps exactly as they are in the video.
The video was made on my laptop which doesn't have a numberpad. If you do have a numberpad then make sure the option "turn mouse
keys on when numlock is on/off" is set on off.

When everything is set up:
1. Turn on numlock if you don't have a numberpad. (for my computer I have to press function-scroll. It will vary for different models)
2. Press ctrl twice in order to lock it on(this locks because you have sticky keys set on)
3. Now pressing the numbers should make the mouse move.
If you're using a laptop you will be pressing the letter keys that have the little numbers written on them.
For me I press "k" and "i" as 2 and 5. Some computers may require you to hold down function in order to use these numbers.

To change what pressing 5 does you need to press the following buttons(the ones by your numberpad, not on the main keyboard unless you're on a laptop.)
* makes both 5 press both the left and right mouse buttons
- makes 5 press the right mouse button
/ makes 5 press the left mouse button

For all of the things that I've used mousekeys for I've kept it set to the left mouse button.

  • @Omustardo when i do this, will the buttons automatically assign to commands or can i personalise the commands? if so, how? thanks!

  • @RuairiBFMV

The only thing you can customize is how fast the cursor moves(or how far it jumps) and what '5' does.

    * makes both 5 press both the left and right mouse buttons

    - makes 5 press the right mouse button

/ makes 5 press the left mouse button

  • Hey when i press THE + Key on my numpad, it takes out 2 things in my bank how do i make it the certain numbers i want it to take out of my bank, using windows 7, similiar to VISTA.

    Thanks allot5/5 subbed. (L)

  • @Sk0rpiann

Jagex has recently said that using the + key to click like that is against the rules since holding down + can generate constant clicking. I'm not sure if setting it to withdraw a certain number of items would be possible anyway.

  • I've followed everything is this guide perfectly but when I use mouse keys after my keys "jump" from right (6) to left (4) my keys will start to gradually move to the left a bit more each time after I push 6 and 4 each time causing them to move of what I want them to be on how can I fix this?

  • @johnboy9893

In mouse->pointer options you can select to enhance pointer precision or not. Changing that may fix the problem. Clicking more slowly can also work sometimes.

  • what if im on windows7

  • @Omustardo hi i want to know how you can change the numbers at the top-left/center of your computer to act like number pad keys. So for example, i wanna press 2 to make my mouse go a little downwards. How can i make it so i can press the number 2 up in the top left/center of my keyboard or make another key act like a two on my numberpad. Thanks.

  • i am just confused on how to do this

  • @Omustardo When I use mouse keys I can drop an item fine but the second time it skips to "cancel" how do I stop this.

  • There's no NUM LOCK button on my laptop. Maybe it's hidden, but i couldn't find it when i searched on the internet. Gunna try again step by step, exactly what you did. If it still doesn't work i'm going to bother you with person messages xD sorry. Really need this atm.
