I used two 780nm 25mw near infrared lasers taped to the corners of my screen and a web cam to make a multitouch display similar to Microsoft LaserTouch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne_QgTKjnMg

Always wear safety laser goggles!

Lasers $8 each
Power: $9.95, only need one
XBOX 360 Web Cam $40
Floppy disk or Unexposed photo negative: free
Laser goggles: $48 (with shipping)
