It seems like all of the covers of this song, even the ones done by Doug Martsch in live performances, are much softer than the original song. I did this version acoustically, trying to match the energy of the original song. I can see why they do the softer version though. This kind of hurts. XD Enjoy! (=

  • amazing

  • @ohhcmoncmoncmon Thank you :)

  • Dude your killing me!!! The wanna see movies of my dreams part has a Cm before the E flat. It goes F Gm Cm!!!!! E flat. Or relative to the capo it would be E F#m Bm!!!! D And really that D should be played as an E Flat Bar chord down the neck at the 6th fret. You can see it clearly in all of dougs videos. I get that covers are interpretations but you're leaving out a really important chord change. Sorry dude but its driving me nuts to watch you play it wrong.

  • @macshoop Well, I didn't watch the videos because as you indicated, I'm not going for an exact copy of the song, rather it is an interpretation. I simply choose to play it slightly differently. Sorry man, but that's what the originals are for. Anyway, thanks for watching.

  • i would go see you live dude!! best cover ive seen in a while! i would love to see you do an acoustic cover of stab.

  • Thanks a lot! Maybe I'll give Stab a try.

  • proof of how good this cover is: just listen to every other cover of this song (which i did, tho i only made it about 15 seconds into the rest of them, because none of them were NEAR as emotive or pure as the original). you're right. screw the smoothed out version. the original is as good as a song gets. your cover is f*ing impeccable in terms of replicating the tone and intent of the original (regardless of the chord change. screw that guy). cheers.

  • you're awesome! great job, i love this

  • totally right about the other versions being too slow. nice

  • awesome job dude!
