wow. they sure did change the style, didn't they? and then continued to command it for a generation. latin dancing wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for them.

Donnie burns and Gayon fairweather do the Samba better in style and gusto than brayon wattson. Burns & fairweather is the best. good thing they retired from dancing championships in 1998 if not brayon want have a chance !!!!!!!!

I was involved in ballroom and Latin for a long time and people in that field think it's the only type of Latin dancing that exists. It one type and the rules were set out by the British. There are politics in BRD. It's a judged event and no different then other judged events. I have to say Donny and Gaynor are fantastic dancers. I also really liked Shirley Ballas. You could turn the music off and watch those three dance and still feel the music. To me that what made them the greatest.

Donnie already retired in 1998 when Slavik just started in 1999. with Joanna, Slavik won the first world title, tears in his eyes, he went up to the podium for the first and possibly the last time. I know, I hate it when ballroom dancers jest about people like Gaynor and Donnie, saying they are not as good as the Leunis and Malitowskis of this world... If it wasn't for people like Gaynor and Donnie, Marcus and Karen, or the Laird and Reynolds; ballroom would not be what is today, as these couples shaped ballroom in my opinion.

Pure and utter brilliance. U shudd been at Blackpool 2 years ago when for the GB team match they made an appearance on the dance floor. The place went wild. Standing ovation as soon as they walked out and danced. AAAAMMMMMAAAAAZZZIIINNNGGGGGGG­GGGGGGGGGG!!!!!
