I was AT that game, and it was awesome. I'll never forget it. One of South Dakota's best basketball stars,
-
I graduated with him, he wasn't 5 ft 10, he was just over 6 ft tall. Still had amazing ups.

Sutherland was a great player. He had to endure a coach who was not very good, had no class (refused to shake hands with players from the opposing teams after losing games) and later moved on to another state where he is just another coach. If Sutherland would have had a good coach in high school, I think they could have won at least 2 state tournaments rather than just one.

Sutherland was less than 6' tall. He went on to play at the University of Missouri and became their all-time leading 3 point shooter I think. He also won the Nike Slam Dunk Contest against the likes of Alan Iverson, Jerry Stackhouse and Rasheed Wallace. The kid also did a spectacular dunk when he was a sophomore in high school that is more impressive than this one...he was about 5'10 at this time.

Sutherland was less than 6 feet tall, won the Nike Slam Dunk contest over such people as Alan Iverson, Rahsheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse. I believe he is the all-time leader 3 point scorer for the University of Missouri.
