Chet Harris ran for Board of Education in the local elections in Haddam, Connecticut on November 3, 2009. Mr. Harris, a conservative Republican, stepped-up to do his civic duty after a decade of waiting for the change that never came.
On election night he prevailed by only one vote. An automatic recount found the same results, and the election results were forwarded to Connecticut's Secretary of State for certification.
A week after the election, his victory was overturned by an apparent lawless act by agents of his opponent. The special election to break the tie occurred on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. This video is a window into what happened.

in Bradford, NH our 3 Selectmen voted themselves $105,000.00 for health insurance for them and their families w/o the taxpayers knowing, when caught by bragging at the dump their health insurance was discontinued and the State said they didn't have to pay back to the town $105,000.00.. corruption goes all the way from the bottom to the top.. they have a club and we don't have a membership.. in Sutton, NH 2 voted for Ron Paul and their votes were never counted when the vote count was displayed..

The residents of Haddam are lucky to have a man like Chet. He stepped up to participate in his town. He should be applauded.
His victory is an inspration for all the average Joes out there. You can make a difference. Get involved. Don't be afraid !
