Vitiligo...what's your opinion?

What is Vitiligo? It is an auto-immune, genetic disorder that attacks that body and the mind but not necessarily in a way you might think. Though not lethal in a physical sense...it can be detrimental to one's psyche.

@hppy4ever Nope! Just a concerned citizen. There are worse things in life than Vit and I hope that people who are affected by it realize that. Some days are gonna be hard, but remember that it could always be worse. The power of positive thinking is very real. it won't cure your situation but it will make life so much easier to deal with.

i`m 18...i got it...i cover it with make-up..! what is your solution to cover it..??? its not comfortable to stand every day in front of the mirror...!! are there other ways? maybe permanent make up??

Don't cover it. Be proud of it. You are unique in outer appearance, but a human just the same. Don't be so shallow about yourself. Get involved in something extracurricular to show others how strong you are.

It is only a theory that vitiligo is a auto immune disorder, it is not a fact set in stone. My mother depigmented her skin completely with natural homeopatic medicine 8 years ago and now lives a perfectly normal life she only did it because she was too late to reverse it but it could have been done. The worst thing that anyone can do is listen to doctors and internet because they have no clue what it is, and saying its an auto immune disorder is just lumping everyone together

I have vitiligo and its affected all of my body but I've slowly come to terms with it.

I have it on my hands and on my feet and some on my face. I know that things could be worse, Im just happy that its not life threatening.I think we all want to have clear skin.The only thing that gets to me is how people treat me and react to me.Imagine my pain when I am out & people give me nasty,dirty looks.When i shake someones hand and they act like im a alien.People treat me funny when I touch their babies or handle their food.I cant even get a simple job as a waitress.

great video man, God blesses you . well i have this disorder vitiligo. i got it in 2003, iam African guy very very black . i never have in Africa but when i came to usa the very first 2 yrs i came here, it started on my lips and now its shinny/ tingkling every were on my body. so i have to live with it. God creat my skin black, but he turn my color white, its ok though i was not turning blue, i was turning white which is another human race too so not a big deal to me at all. thanks all.

Hi I have this skin disorder as well as everyone else who has commented. I have had it since I was 8 and am now 14 it covers 80 percent of my body it's not spread to my face but I have it on my legs arms neck it covered my feet also it's on my back and belly. Last year in the spring/ summer slot of people asked what was on my hand sometimes I would say their just like that or I don't know? I usually cover up with long shirts and jeans but it's hard during basketball which is where I'm heading n

I've had this since I was 5. I am now 13. whenever someone ask me whats wrong i just tell them I have vitiligo. They ask me to explain and I tell them to look it up. Some ignorant people ask me is it because of burns. It is very strange with this disorder, I feel sometimes special and sometimes like trash. I am taking different medicines to keep it off until I graduate from highschool so I can have a normal life. Thanks for the video.

Thank you....I am dealing with this now and month by month lose more and more of my pigment. People always ask if I am a burn victim. It is embarresing and people don't always want to touch you. Hope to meet more understanding people like you.

well...almost 40-60% of my body has got vitiligo i got alot of white places on my body it started when i was around the age of 12-13 and now i got it almost everywhere. my ''normal'' skin color is tanned a little bit. but when im on holiday vitiligo burns very fast its very annoying, i don't think its ugly i think its pretty cool to have it its special not many people have it its unique. when i look in the mirror i think its just me i don't care if people dont like it if they don't than piss off
