Sirius plays with a stranger

For younger dogs, it is extremely important that they be comfortable with strangers, since that is who they are looking for when they are searching. The very first step in training any SAR dog should be socialization. We use this as the "last" step in a chain of behaviors that will string together to form a search problem. The last thing a dog does when searching is get their reward, and in our training, that means playing with a stranger with the highest valued toys.
