Jane Elliot is known for her psychological experiment Blue-Eyed / Brown-Eyed, which she first performed on a grade-three class she was teaching in the late 1960s. Later, she took her experiment to the corporate world. This is a clip from those later days (1996), when her experiment had become three hours of talking down to adults, treating them like children, and being all around nasty, all in the name of teaching tolerance! Jane Elliot's initial version of her experiment is cited in Stanford psychologist Philip Zimbardo's book The Lucifer Effect (2007).

  • You misspelled awesome.

  • Elliot speaks the truth. And yes, sometimes the truth is nasty, but that's a whole different issue.

  • LOL..that girl is too much of a pansy ass!!! what the heck was she crying about?! geeez..that isn't nasty...that is a actually a valuable piece of advice

  • enjoy "cute" and by the time you're 45yrs old, maturity begins - enjoy it, at 60+ wisdom sinks in - it's a whole life of enjoyment.

  • @JCLangton15 I think it's cause she made light of a situation that affects so many people. She's trying to teach her a lesson and then she found it hilarious to make a coke about coffee and sitting on the floor. When for many blacks its jobs, imprisonment, societal marginalization etc. Well.. that's just my opinion. But I do think it is a good speech that all women -including myself- should remember. Cause it's so easy to get caught up in it.

  • @yoyo762 The racists go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah...

  • That's not nasty. That's awesome.

  • Jane Elliot is a gift!

  • @tommytoft Maybe whites are in power because they are the smartest, most competent and efficient ones around. Or is that another racist view??

Whites are a minority in the world but are universally respected. Why? Because whites have created countries and governments that are the envy of everyone else.

So your flattery about whites and power will get you no where, lol.
