Not all songs about the Vietnam war come from America. Australian band Redgum perform the song "I Was Only 19" about the experiences of the many young Australians who went over.
Nicely done video, my friend. The soldier does what the National Leadership tells them to do...you have to trust, and hope that your Leadership know what the heck it is doing...sigh...I did my 28 years for Uncle Sam...served with Diggers, here and there, a salute for them, and a salute to you for doing a good job on telling the story.
my uncle was over there,he never spoke about it, but after living in south east asia myself for a few years, i feel for all the people involved in conflicts, weather it be the american/vietnam war, or what happened in Cambodia and laos....war is evil, and tyrants must be stopped.
And I must say, total thanks and respect to anyone who has encountered a two way rifle range (as my uncle used to put it)...................
I was 18 in the Gulf 90. Sums it up. Didn't get much sleep there but I didn't lose any mates. We were lucky. Blessings on those who are still in the bucket regardless of the branch. Make it home safe fellas. Keep fighting the good fight.
@steveatcho1 Dead right it is. Mount Misery, climb it, you'll know it. The hardest best training in I have got anywhere in life. Pucka (Puckapunyl) a walk in the f'g park compared to Canungra. At 20, I was the second old guy in my unit. Sgt Brewer-(Curley!)-You are the hardest Bastard that I have met in my life!
The soldiers that fought in Vietnam have got to be some of the bravest fighters to ever live. Good job to Australian veterans.

@p8ball82
Canungra is in Queensland. I think they did specialist jungle training at the army base there.
