stealth is not ultimate solution of air superiority, stealth is not "wounderwaffe" or something. stealth has its limitations and compromises

well why change a perfected shape? Great aerodynamics, awesome range, manueverability, internal space for things. ease of modification, up to 14-missile capability ( gotta sacrifice ECM pods for that though) or 8000kg of bombs. And massive reserves for multirole use. If it ain't broke - don't fix it :) There are fighters, bombers, interceptors, record variants, can do so much!

first of all this is a su-37 not su-35 and second, it crashed few years ago and now it's canceled

@friggendude actually there are limitaitons to stealth, like extra weight, and also because all ammo must be inside the airplane to keep it stealthy then small ammo carry too.

@friggendude i know about the pods, but i think in syria tehy used a spaciel electronic warfare airplane. also i heard rumers of a use of one of those bombs that puts electronic devices out of work in a big radius too. but in the binladen case, they didnt really need a stealthy aircraft didnt they? im pretty sure pakistan was aware of the helicopter, maybe not about the operation.

@davidds0 no no, think about this.. how did a VERY non-stealthy chinook helicopter go into pakastan during the bin-laden raid? those pop up on radar like a mother fucker. ill tell you how. look up ECM pods. we dont use them much cuz of price, but ill tell u right now, there a LOT better than we like to admit. and the bin-laden raid proves it, there is just no other way to go in, in a chinook, undetected.

@Spetsnazovets your exaguratting even if syria doesnt have the most advanced sams they do have some sams, but israel used electronic warfare and very advanced avionics. my point is, today avionics, pilot skill, and strategy is what really matters , sure plane capabilies are helpfull but in the wrong hands even an F-22 can be defeated like a mig 21
