1)Kuchipudi is from Andhra Pradesh,Bharatanatyam - Tamil Nadu,however both dances are from South India(styles are like distant relatives :P)2)Steps of both dances diferents (for example, Kuchipudi dancer don't sit in full Araimandi (the half-seet position)3)In Kuchipudi, there is some certain dance types that you won't find in Bharathanatyam, for example:Tarangam(dancer dances on the plate,sometimes with oil burning candles in hands and/or with litlle pot with water on the head)and many more ;)

im curious about something-
whats the difference between kutchipudi and bharatanatyam? as far as i can see, there is no difference step-wise, but the outfits are different. is there something else to the differences that i do not see, or is the difference merely superficial?

Thank you so much! I am finally seeing the Kuchipudi I've been wanting to for a very long time. I once saw a videoclip of Kuchipudi online many years ago and thought it was awesome, but this one is much better! I see pure technique.
