Lemn Sissay MBE, poet, author, playwright was fostered from birth to the age of 11. He was then looked after in children's homes from the age of 11-17.
He is now very successful and his public art poems have become Landmarks in Manchester and in London they adorn The Royal Festival Hall. His sculpture poem Gilt of Cain commissioned by The City of London was unveiled by Bishop Desmond Tutu in 2007.
He is author of five books of poetry and reads on stages throughout the world.
