My thoughts on what Google+ is all about, why you want to get a profile, and what to do with your other social networking accounts.

  • I know it's hypocritical to say this whilst posting on a public comment thread...but doesn't it seem as if this is just another way to fuel an already attention-obsessed mass with even more excuses to be obsessed with themselves and their vain pursuits? Not really a Social networking..fan. A forum is one thing, especially for good conversation...but a public "Look at Me!" center? Really?

  • @JRock589 Nah that is true but from what I've seen, not many are promoting themselves. Their promoting stuff that has entertained them or made them think about something.

  • I love google+, it's soo much better than facebook, but im still gonna keep facebook because most of my friends are still in there.

  • woooo im the 999th viewer

  • itz a grt service... i like the hangout thing.. it rocks!!

  • google + is great i love it so far we just need apps and fan pages and also more people to join and facebook is gone

  • I don't have a Google plus account but from looking at the features and possibilities I think kit's best use will be organizational. Using hangouts to create an organized debate, or brainstorm for a political protest would be simple. I really hope that non-profits take full advantage.

  • Sounds like Facebook.

  • Coming up next from Google's labs: Google stalk.

  • @JRock589 Get a fucking life. Loser

  • @theshadowfan "Promoting themselves" takes many forms...shouting about something you enjoy to the world is to assume that you're important enough that anyone would care to begin with. Just another form of implicating that your worthy of attention, and then seeking attention out. Call me crazy, but what happened to just enjoying things on your own and being content with that? Isn't advertising your enjoyment merely an expression of insecurity?
