Red Bull Renault F1 car at Rajpath, New Delhi 2011

F1 is finally in India later this month. As a prelude to that, the 2010 Formula 1 champion team Red Bull Renault held a brilliant show-off event in New Delhi. No, not on the brand new Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, but on Rajpath in heart of Lutyen's Delhi and the seat of India's government. Here is the first of the three such 1-km trips made by Red Bull Renault test driver Daniel Ricciardo of Australia at a speed of 270 km. It was exciting to hear the F1 rev up next to us and see it fly. We tried to capture it successfully a couple of times despite the very uncomfortable standing position. The video quality is below average, however, since it was taken with the phone. But the sound makes up for it :)
