  • @PrincessKLS And of course the instructor of the class was all about brainwashing the younger children into not using anything other then "PWD" or "chair user" and didn't listen or take my stance against the terms in consideration. It was almost like they weren't open to discussing different perspectives.

  • I went there recently for about a week for driver's education and yes I was one of the oldest students there but I have to say I didn't like it much. I had some orientation classes with the life skills group and in one of the classes we got into a debate about terminology used to describe the disabled community and I argued against the use of "People with Disabilities". I grew up with "mental retarded" used as a insult, so to me using the term, "disabled people" is quite a step up.
