The BNSF trackage rights train is not an easy catch on Donner Pass. What made it better was the rare-in-Northern-California SD75M on the point. What made it special was that the SD75M #8220 is a Warbonnet.

  • How close are Yuba gap and Emigrant gap to eachother?

  • @ThomasRivette: I think they are about 5-6 railroad miles apart, a little closer by driving.

  • Ok thanks, I'm hoping to chase UP's anniversary train over the mountains in September and I want to catch it at both of those spots.

  • @ThomasRivette: Hehe, it's going to be difficult because there will be lots of other railfans - traffic might not be bad, but you'll have to wait to leave a location, and find a place to park in time to set up your video or photo.

  • Sweet EJ&E Gondola

  • 8220's horns are out of tune.

  • You got 2 in one shoot. A Warbonnet and a SP!!! The Warbonnet horn is a classic though and I miss those style horns. Excellent video.

  • Very good video!!!!!

  • Awesome train meet at Glenshire! I like how the ex-Santa Fe and ex-SP units passed each other!

  • Well done video, good catch.
