My method of dosing and tamping for my Cuisinart EM-100. Normally I dose directly from my grinder, but for the sake of the video I ground ahead of time.

The funnel used in the video was made from an empty vitamin bottle and my high-tech de-clumping device is nothing more than a piece of solid core copper wire. I have found both these items to be completely necessary, and although you can make them out of anything you like, I highly recommend using anything similar. You will also need a 51mm tamper. I purchased mine through this ebay seller http://stores.ebay.ca/Precision-Tamper-Maker

I cut the bottom out of my portafilter using a bi-metal hole saw and my drill press and the singlewall basket was ordered through Breville.

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • Hi,

I have the same portafilter as you, sadly not the same basket! What non pressurized baskets did you order to fit this portafilter? I have the Baratza Virtuoso like you too....would be good to get a decent shot without using the quite frankly naff pressurized baskets that come with it!

    Cheers,

    DT
