Xotic Effects BB Preamp vs Andy Timmons BB Pedal Demo Shootout

Had a bunch of requests for this. How different is the regular BB Preamp from Xotic Effects from the Limited Edition Andy Timmons version? You tell me! I got both of them from www.soundsgreatmusic.com. You can too, just tell em you heard it at The Tone Shack!

The Timmons sounds smoother, not as biting.

To hear the difference like I have tried with my amp... you have to turn down the volume on the bb preamps so that you don't boost/overdrive the preamp on the amp. Set the amp as clean as possible, and let the preamp be the overdrive, then you hear the difference. I like the andy timmons more. Smoother, and not so harsh as the standard, and less mids IMHO.

I use the BB for rhythm only so the BB gets the nod!

The differences are really minimal. Standard BB has a more cutting equalization, slightly more emphasized trebles and biting tone, I hear that the gain growls more in this pedal. The Timmons signature has a rounder equalization, concentrated more on low and mids frequencies, gain is more "kept on a leash" than the standard BB. In the tipically style of Timmons.
