Think the announcing had a bit of homerism at work? The officials did screw up by stepping in when they both wanted to go. As far as the "outrageous" minor on McSorley, McSorley instigated with an elbow to the back of Messier's head, against the boards, that knocked his helmet off. I can see matching minors, for the retaliation, but those guys are blind and stupid if they claim that Messier started that.
