HI EVERYONE, this a WARNING I would no longer recommend doing this. It's been about 8 months since the first time I did this, I decided to do it again and I was not very pleased with how damaged my hair was and decided it was best to cut all of my damaged hair off =(. I will make a video regarding this soon.

I am only leaving the video up so that people in my situation (dark hair, dyed hair) will know what not to do. I'm truly sorry if anyone messed up their hair my hair definitely was not as damaged the first time so if you've already done it just don't do it again. I never claimed to be an expert I just wanted to figure out how to do it myself and learned my lesson.

Original description

Here is how did ombre on my dyed black hair! It was really easy to do and the product I used probably cost less that $20 - anyone can do it.

Bleach: L'Oreal Quick Blue Powder Lightener 1 lb. (I only used about 3 oz of this)

Color: Ion Color Brilliance Permanent Creme Hair Color - 5A Light Ash Brown

Developer:
Salon Care 30 Volume Creme Developer (use with bleach)
Salon Care 10 Volume Creme Developer (use with color)

cup & brush, foil (use reynolds wrap)

I put up all the links to the exact products I used here:

UPDATE: I've since dyed my hair back - here is why

  • Or you could not bleach on top of black hair dye. Stupid, know how to do hair before you do it at home..

  • @hkbarbie0909 LOL if you had bothered to listen or read the description before leaving your uninformed and irrelevant comment you really could have saved yourself the time and energy to type. Thanks though, there's just no shortage of these kinds of unconstructive comments on youtube, glad to see you are doing your part for the well being of mandkind! great spirit you have!

  • I got bored with all the talking :(

  • @Siobhansies show not tell, lesson learned, thanks for the feedback!

  • Ask a cosmetology friend to use V-Light. It's a much much gentler bleach. Or you can ask about the Malibu Treatment, which lightens gradually. Much less damaging.

  • @PandaArcade Thanks! I'm really like the look again so I will look into this.

  • @ronisnotahuman thank you hair expert. are there other universal truths I should know about? I missed "thou shalt not bleach hair two times" in the Human Manual.

  • youre facial features remind me of santana from gleeeeee

  • Bleach is bleach. It doesn't matter if your hair is black, or 'dirty blonde' if your putting bleach on your hair, your hair is forever fucked up. You should go to salon to do Any sort of color, and while you're there, you should get a treatment to help your hair, that you messed up!

  • Megan fox ? :D

  • IF YOU REALLY WANT OMBRE HAIR GO TO "NGUERRIERO19" PAGE HERS LOOKS AMAZING! MUCH BETTER THAN THIS ONE!

  • @hkbarbie0909 lol shut the fuck up you rude ass bitch. i know its hard to see a beautiful girl when maybe youre not and you might feel a bit of jealousy but no need to be a bitch mkay?:)

  • youre so beautiful wow

  • @soferellas Or look for a bleach with conditioners in them. I think Rusk makes one? I think that's what was used on mine. It leaves it soft and my ends weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. I actually just went from jet black hair to ombre a couple weeks ago. I love how it turned out.
