it was a great camera for beginers, a little small for my hands and i found out ltr that the menu set-up left me wanting, i have since sold this camera due to night photo issues and low light issues, i will replace it with a d70 d70s or a d90.

  • Did you get a 90? I got myself a D200 just to learn on and am planning on getting a D7000 or if I get lucky with the lottery buy a D3X,Nikons are great cameras.

  • @subiemon A D7000 would be a very nice buy,I'm basically learning with my D200(weather proof and has focus motor in the body),I probably will upgrade to a D3 or a D3X when the prices go down(I want a D4 when it comes out Feb 16,but $6,000 is kinda out of my reach lol)

  • yes i would recomend it, i like the fact that its simple to opperate and still takes great shots, has a built in menu, the 18-55 lens that comes with it is good but it deponds on what ur goin to be taking pics of and in what light settings, i plan on up grading to a 18-200 lens in the summer or fall, i hope this helps

  • Hey there!

I was just asking about your Nikon D3000!

I'm planning to get one soon, and I'd like to ask a few questions, if you don't mind:

    - Do you recommend it for a beginner?

    - What do you like about it?

    - Which lens do you recommend with it? The 18 - 55mm?

It'd be great if you could answer those questions, it would be of GREAT help, thanks a lot, and great videos by the way ;)

    Cheers,

    Treviie
