Afroman debunks the popular myth that it's not the volts that kill you, it's the amps. Basically, the volts directly determine the current flowing through your body, so the phrase is stupid and dangerously misleading.

  • so would 3.3 v at 20 amps be dangerous!?!?

  • @corbonzo1 Not unless you were dumping that through a piece of wire that was about to melt.

  • so what about 440 volts at 0 amps

  • @firebomber39 ahaahahah pervert

  • Just a quick question to the simple circuit at around 2:00

There is a ground at the bottom, indicated by the symbol. But where is the positive side? I'm new to electricity and I am trying really hard to learn it, but it's just not easy.

Would appreciate it if anyone could answer!

  • @corbonzo1

Through your skin, you will never see that many amps.

    remember, I=V/R

  • so when i touched a warwick prob at work while cleaning the filler tank and got a quick zap of 240, i got lucky?

  • @TheKarlsruheprotest

    Yes, that could kill you.

  • @97skinnyboyswag

Yes, because when you touch a 3.7 volt battery, only a really small current is floating through your body. The 700mA are the max. current - they are not floating in every situation!!!

  • --->the truth<---- you need voltage to make enough amps to the body or high resistance . low voltage .power supply with high load of amps dont kill. you . high voltage with 00001 amp like static make a very easily current on high resistance bud make very fast a voltage drop down.(YOU NEED VOLTAGE AND AMPS FOR A DEADLY SHOCK!)

  • lol who care what it is that kills you?

let the stupid dead people debate which it was that killed them, while us reasonably intelligent people avoid any reason to do so by not touching live wires...
