Yonkers Police Brutality

POLICE USES EXCESSIVE FORCE IN THE ARREST OF A PATRON BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE A PERMIT TO WALK HIS DOG. HE TOLD THE POLICE HE DID NOT HAVE IT ON, AND HE WAS JUST WALKING HIS BROTHER'S DOG. POLICE GET AT HIM ALL UP IN FACE HOLDING ON TO HIS SHIRT AND ASKED HIM, " YOU THINK I AM STUPID." IN THE PROCESS OF HIM TRYING TO GET AWAY AND HE SAYING " I DID NOTHING WRONG". THE BRAWL STARTED OF WITH TWO POLICE OFFICERS. WHILE HIS GIRLFRIEND TRY TO HELP HIM BY TRYING PROTECT HER BOYFRIEND FROM GETTING HIT AND SAYING "HE DID NOT DO NOTHING". THEY THREW HER DOWN ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR TOO. IN ALL THIS THE GUY WAS BANG AGAINST THE CAR, FENCE AND THE GROUND. HE SUFFERS A BROKEN RIB, BUST UP NOSE, BUSTED FACE AND BATTERY AGAINST IS BODY FROM THE EXCESSIVE BEATING.

Exactly. The job of the cops is to get suspects under control. Even an ordinary citizen defending himself isn't obligated to make things "fair" for his assailant. It's not a boxing match.

Somebody's full of shit, but I'm not sure who. I live in Yonkers, and you don't need any kind of permit to walk a dog. Dogs have to be licensed in NY, but I walk my dog every day and no cop ever asked to see it. There's also no law anywhere saying that you have to actually have the dog license on you, just that you have one on file with the state.
